Carriage Hills Park

This is a small neighbourhood park which is not well cared for. We did like the old-school climber. This Sand park has placed that look burnt, graffiti ridden, and bent. When we were there, there was what appeared to be urine all over one of the slides. There was a very large covered picnic area. Parking was difficult at this park.

Dunwoody Park

McClellan Rd & Baisden Rd (off Bayou Blvd)

Not to far from Pintado Park, Dunwoody Park sits in a quiet neighborhood. This surprising find was filled with fun for the boys. The super tall triple slide took up most of our time while the spring animals were a good source of amusement too. This park had a good mixture of shade and also sun. While we were there, children's soccer teams were holding practice and the atmosphere was very friendly. The lengthy walking track encompasses the park. There are also swings, including those for toddlers, and a basketball court. Picnicking is possible at this park. Parking is curbside.

Juanita Williams Park

505 Edgewater Dr

This park has one play structure, swings, spring animals, picnic tables, a track, covered pavilion, and a water fountain. There are also several grills. The picnic area is beautifully nestled under old oak trees. While there is plenty of shade for the running area, the play structure is only partially covered giving a good cooling factor on the hot days. We found this park quiet with friendly neighbors. On the day we were there, there was a wooden panel in place of part of the play structure. There are no toddler swings. This park has its own parking lot.

Shell Street Park

5550 Shell Street off of Davis Hwy.

This park, while conveniently located, is not as well maintained as many others. Shell Street park does boast 2 play structures, swings, picnic tables, and a covered patio. This was an immediate favorite of the boys' because of the spiral slide and log roll. Unfortunately, the spiral slide is not easily accessed by the smaller of parksters. Once I put the toddler up on the platform, he was also enthralled with the spiral slide as it is angled and does not move too fast for him. While on the double slide, we learned that it moves super fast with not enough of a slowing ramp. Both kids slid down and right off of the double slide. The park has plenty of shade trees which leads to plenty of ground debris.
